MED-EL’s TechSwap Program!


No need to wait for SONNET 3. As of September 1, 2024, patients who choose a MED-EL cochlear implant can exchange one audio processor for the new SONNET 3 audio processor once it’s available. If your surgery date is February 14, 2025 or later, you can swap your second audio processor for SONNET 3, as well.*

 

Here’s how the TechSwap Program works:

  • Choose a MED-EL cochlear implant system. You are eligible to exchange one SONNET 2 or RONDO 3 audio processor if your surgery date is on or after September 1, 2024.
  • When you receive your patient kit, you will be instructed to complete a simple, online registration for the TechSwap Program.
  • Once SONNET 3 is available, MED-EL will contact you to complete the swap.

Additional Details

TechSwap is offered for patients implanted in the U.S. only with a surgery date of September 1, 2024 through product availability.

  • The next-generation behind-the-ear audio processor will be delivered in the same color as the SONNET 2 that is being exchanged. If exchanging a RONDO 3 audio processor, a color selection will be offered via the registration form.
  • The warranty start date for the next-generation behind-the-ear audio processor coincides with the start date of the original CI system patient kit.
  • Only one audio processor may be exchanged per ear/CI system.

*Eligibility: Cochlear implant patients implanted in the US with a surgery date on or after September 1, 2024 through February 13, 2025, are eligible to swap one open audio processor. Cochlear implant patients implanted in the US with a surgery date on or after February 14, 2025, until product availability are eligible to swap one open audio processor and one sealed audio processor. Product availability is estimated for spring 2025. A registration deadline will be announced at the time of product availability. SONNET 2 and RONDO 3 audio processors are eligible for this program. Program terms are subject to change at any time.
