A Solution for Single-Sided Deafness

Restaurants. Bars. Parties. If you have hearing loss in one ear, it’s not unusual to find it difficult to keep up with group conversations or feel excluded in social situations. Perhaps you can’t hear what’s going on behind you in the car, find it tricky to hear your phone ringing, or even struggle to hear where traffic is coming from when crossing the road. And after a day of straining to hear, you might find yourself feeling tired or having headaches. All of these are typical side effects of single-sided deafness and unilateral hearing loss.

A cochlear implant can help you hear in full again.

How a Cochlear Implant Works

How a Cochlear Implant Works

Unlike CROS or bone conduction systems, a cochlear implant helps restore the hearing if you have single-sided deafness or unilateral hearing loss. This helps you know where sounds are coming from and filter out background noise. It also means you can put less effort into listening, which can reduce tiredness and headaches.

A cochlear implant system is made of two parts. There’s the implant itself, which bypasses the damaged parts of your inner ear to send sound to your brain. And there’s the audio processor. This picks up sounds and sends them to the implant.

Our cochlear implant system mimics natural hearing so that you can have the closest possible match between your ears. This means there’s less for you to adapt to and you can achieve better results faster.[ft]
