BONEBRIDGE
Smart Design. Sound Results.
Today’s BONEBRIDGE system—featuring BCI 602 and SAMBA 2—was designed based on over a decade of clinical experience to offer both you and your patients a reliable intact-skin bone conduction implant system. Our second-generation implant, BCI 602, and third-generation audio processor, SAMBA 2, make BONEBRIDGE the most advanced active transcutaneous system on the market.
Only BONEBRIDGE offers such a SMART DESIGN to provide SOUND RESULTS.
BONEBRIDGE is engineered to provide:
- Most surgical flexibility
- Low risk of skin complications
- Long-term retention and reliability
- Clinic efficiency and patient convenience
One of a Kind
Surgical Flexibility
You can enjoy a customizable, intuitive surgical procedure while offering your patients an individualized experience thanks to the truly flexible design of the BCI 602 implant.
BCI 602 has a reduced drilling depth and small footprint, which means it can be flexibly placed in many positions on the temporal bone. Audio processor positioning will always be appropriate since the BCI 602 can bend up to 90o in either lateral direction and up to 30o medially. Additionally, a 1 mm lift can be added to either fixation wing to compensate for uneven skull surface. These features are especially significant when implanting someone who has a unique anatomy, such as history of middle ear surgeries or craniofacial anomalies.
We recently met with Dr. David Kaylie of Duke University to hear about his surgical experience with BONEBRIDGE over the last five years. Read the highlights on our AllEars Professional Blog.

Happy Patients
The partly recessed placement of BCI 602 gives BONEBRIDGE a smooth, flat profile under the skin. A low-profile surgical site is not only cosmetically appealing but also vital to maintaining healthy skin. BCI 602 is designed to minimize both skin pressure and skin displacement around the transducer.
If your patients experience recurrent complications with an existing bone conduction device, having healthy skin moving forward is a top priority. BONEBRIDGE is a name that they can trust, with a proven history of low post-op complications.1
A reduction in post-op complications can benefit your clinic too. Fewer follow up visits opens your schedule up to see new patients or perhaps even take a lunch break.
Retention and Reliability
For the Long Haul
Have peace of mind knowing that your patient’s bone conduction implant was designed to handle everyday accidents. BONEBRIDGE has two very intentional features that contribute to the impact resistance and reliability of the BCI 602 implant. First, the BCI 602 implant is partially embedded into the temporal bone for protection against impacts up to 2.5 joules.2 Second, it is surgically secured with two points of fixation to maximize stability.
Retention of the audio processor is equally important. SAMBA 2 offers your patients the most stable connection for comfortable all-day hearing.
- Our lightest weight audio processor
- Widest selection of magnet strengths on the market (6 strengths)
With thousands of implantations worldwide and over a decade on the market, BONEBRIDGE has a proven track record of outstanding reliability.3 MED-EL is committed to transparent reliability reporting too. View our easy-to-read data anytime.
Convenience is Crucial
SAMBA 2, and even first-generation SAMBA, can be remote loaded. Should your patient’s SAMBA 2 ever need to be repaired or replaced, MED-EL can ship a pre-programmed replacement directly to their home. Your patients can reduce their number of clinic visits, and your clinic has more time to see new patients.
Choosing BONEBRIDGE also saves patients money! BONEBRIDGE has a battery life that can’t be beat.
- 8-10 days of battery life (that’s only 1 box of batteries per year!)
- Batteries are easy to find at local drug stores
- Battery life is NOT impacted by wireless streaming
- SAMBA 2 GO audio streamer included at no cost
